I dreamt in the night that I was overlooking a lake. I was calmly sitting on a verandah with my daughter. Someone pointed out that there was a tornado in the sky. I looked over and watched the tornado approach closer. It became deep blood red and then it hit the lake, forming a deep whirlpool. There were people swimming in the lake who were now being sucked into the whirlpool one by one. I saw one girl, and as I watched her being pulled into the whirlpool, I jumped up and wanted to save her, but stopped myself knowing that I’d get pulled in too, and I didn’t want to leave my daughter.

When I woke up, I knew that this was a significant dream, so I wrote it down, not yet realising the significance or the symbology until later.

We were in Wales, staying on the edge of the Brecon Beacons natural park, in a lodge at the edge of a small village. We were surrounded by forest and just a stone’s throw from the cascading river and the waterfalls, where the initiation would take place.

Our plan was to find a way to go collectively into the unknown together and to find the clue that would lead our trio towards finding the deep why.

This is the story about a shared restless urge, a clue and a journey of creatively seeking meaning and greatness. I hope that this is of value to anyone else on a similar journey.

The book starts with the story and is then followed by insights from neuroscience.
